5 MW Project
In February 2009 ChapDrive entered into an Industrial research and Development agreement (IFU) with StatoilHydro and Innovation Norway. The agreement secures funding of NOK 52 million (EUR 6 million) to finance the development of a 5 MW hydraulic transmission for wind turbines.
The project will enable ChapDrive to develop and test a 5 MW drive train solution and make a concept design for a 5 MW wind turbine with ChapDrive hydraulic transmission and ChapDrive variable speed control.
The project is planed to start in the second half of 2009 and will continue throughout 2010.
